What is the current State of Acupuncture Research and its Evidence Base with Researcher Sandro Graca

When: Saturday, July 18th, 2026, presentation by SOHHA’s Research Literacy Advisor, Sandro Graca, MSc, Lic TCM, FABORM. Sandro volunteers as SOHHA’s Research Literacy Advisor.

Who: Sandro is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Wolverhampton, UK. His research work focuses on women’s health, artificial intelligence, and digital health. He serves as the director of the board at Evidence Based Acupuncture, a 501(c)(3) organization. And he is a board member at the Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR). At SAR, he serves as board chair for special interest groups (SIG): Artificial Intelligence & Digital Health, Women's Health, Practice-Based Research, and Dissemination & Implementation


Topic: The Current State of Acupuncture Research and its Evidence Base

Several new papers have been published on the updated “State of the Evidence” and “State of the Research” in 2025 and 2026.

This presentation will provide an overview of these papers

This presentation will reference these papers and provide an opportunity for colleagues to learn more about the latest state of the acupuncture research and the evidence based. This includes the citations for these papers and other recommended references and resources.

This presentation is an opportunity for the community to engage in research literacy with live presentation (Zoom) and discussion during the session (Q&A with speaker) and asynchronous discussion before and after the presentation in the designated virtual space in our learning platform.
